I have neighbors that start Christmas decorating on Nov. 1. And was so surprised to see some in a yard before Halloween this year

I put stuff up on Nov 1 when I took down the Halloween stuff. I figure just get in the boxes once. I love Thanksgiving. I've got window clings, turkey windsock, turkey wreath on the door and other cornucopias and stuff sitting in the house. We don't do Christmas stuff until after 12/12, ds's birthday.

I have 1 or 2 Thanksgiving decorations. Christmas stuff will be put up a few days after Thanksgiving, whenever we get to it. I have neighbors that go WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY overboard and after 8 years of this, it has kind of sucked the joy out of Christmas decorations for me. I'm definitely becoming a Scrooge.

Christmas decorations go up about 2 weeks before Christmas. If Michael had his way, they'd go up on Christmas Eve, to mark the end of Advent properly. Either way, they come down on Jan 5th, or they turn into hobgoblins on Twelfth Night/Epiphany!

I like to start right after Thanksgiving, but I always end up feeling overwhelmed & the last few years it seems like I run out of time before I really get it the way I want it to be.

Christmas is the only holiday I really decorate for all year.
