My 9yo SN son wets his bed every night. We were using pull-ups/overnights disposable pants, but due to finances we can't afford them anymore. We have been trying to do a bathroom schedule: potty before bed, I get him up at 11pm to go potty and DH gets him up at 5:30am to go potty. It worked for a few days but the last week or two he started wetting his bed again (seems like it happens around 2-3am). I know it's hereditary(I was a bedwetter) and then add in ds special needs, I'm not sure he's ever going to stay dry at night.
Laundry is hard enough to keep up with and this is just making it harder (plus the boys room is starting to smell....so now I have to invest in Febreeze)....but going to cloth is probably the option we're going to go to since we can't afford to keep buying pull-ups (plus he's getting too big for them).
So, I'm thinking of getting more waterproof overlays for his bed and investing in a couple pairs of cloth pants instead of pull-ups....does anyone have any places to order these from? I've found a couple online but would like to get recommendations from you all before buying from a company I am not familiar with...also I would welcome any other ideas you all may have to help us get him to stop wetting the bed completely.
I was also wondering if talking to the ped. is something we definitely should do? I really don't have a problem talking with the ped....but being pg and the swine flu going around I am VERY hesitant to go anywhere near a doctor's office unless absolutely necessary. Of course, this can probably wait until after the baby is born and until the spring/summer.
Thanks.
