Denise (43) 4 of 6 kids still at home. I was tricked into thinking Spring was here when our weather warmed up for several days in a row, now we are expecting more snow. I spend most of the winter hoping that Spring will be here SOON. (nt) - Denise1066 last week

Lisa w/7. I'd feel more like spring if the snow would melt. (nt) - joyofsix 13 days ago

4. */*/*/*/* February Monthly Challenge Round-Up -- Everybody check in and tell us how you did! *\*\*\*\* (nt) - Admin last week (4)

My laundry room was pretty clean most of the month & I got some new little baskets to put loose items into, but going on vacation for 3 days & leaving my 20 yr old son here to catch up on his laundry has left my laundry room a bigger disaster than it was before it got cleaned. (nt) - Denise1066 last week

Lost mine, lol - its got even more laundry in it now than it did 4 weeks ago.... (nt) - SevenMs 13 days ago

Well, I cleaned out the overhead cupboards. I haven't refilled them yet, lol and the floor is still lost :( I failed dismally *sigh* (nt) - duedrop 12 days ago

7. *&*&*&*&* Creativity Corner - What are you working on to feed your muse? (Art, Crafts, Writing...) *&*&*&*&* (nt) - Admin last week (7)

I'm making something to hold all the "masterpieces" my kids make so that I can see the face of my fridge again, and not have tons of tape or thumb tacks on the walls. (nt) - room4more 13 days ago

This and that...I've been sewing some. DD's formal for Val.... made a sash for other DD's gown. I made a headband today for the baby. I checked out jewelry making books from the library... (nt) - gelsum 13 days ago

Lap quilts for the kids for our living room, one of the coldest rooms in the house and knitting on a couple of blankets, one is a couch blanket and my first zig zag pattern and the other is a blanket for Jayden (nt) - serialmommy 12 days ago

Not sure if it counts as crafty, but I built a set of bunk beds from a pile of wood & screws. Now I know why the bunkbeds from Walmart online are so reasonably priced (m) - Denise1066 12 days ago

Photographs! I'm thinking of making pictures for print to sell. (nt) - duedrop 12 days ago

8. What kind of car do you have to accommodate all your LOs? - shoegal7272 13 days ago (11)

15 pass van (nt) - room4more 13 days ago

Us too (nt) - joyofsix 13 days ago

We started out w/a mini van, moved into an expedition, and finally, to my chagrin (I'm a compact car kinda girl) are in a 15 pass. Of course I wouldn't trade it, because that means I wouldn't have all my LO's! (nt) - gelsum 13 days ago

Well we started with a 81 Chevy Chevette, - SevenMs 13 days ago

Suburban currently, which we've outgrown...shopping for a 15 pass van. (nt) - Luv2bmom 12 days ago

Well, we are back to fitting in our mini van with room for one more.....our oldest 2 are grown & drive their own cars now. (nt) - Denise1066 12 days ago

We have a 13 seater commuter van (nt) - duedrop 12 days ago

We currently have a 1999 Mercury Villager with over 150,000 miles on it. It only seats 7 so when we have Katy Jason usually gets left home or has to work. I'd like to get a Dodge Durango Hybrid, but that is way beyond our means right now. (nt) - serialmommy 11 days ago

We are in a 7 passenger van which we just outgrew and are in need of upgrading (nt) - Christys6Kids 11 days ago

12 passenger van here and love it (nt) - proudmommy5 11 days ago

9. Okay Denise, my mechanic just called, and all my "little" fixes racked up a $500.00 bill! You stole all the cheap labor/easy fix karma!!! lol!! (nt) - room4more 13 days ago (10)

Eeek, sorry to hear that. (nt) - Denise1066 13 days ago

That stinks. I'm going to keep ignoring the horrible squeaking in mine. That'll work, right? (nt) - joyofsix 12 days ago

Yeah, that would be my mechanical advice (lol), cause it was the squeak that got me!! Apparently the alternator was barely attached, the brackets were bad and someone had put it on wrong...new brackets?? $170.00 + labor (nt) - room4more 12 days ago

I had an expensive squeak....$320 to replace the belt tensioner & surpentine belt....the wheel on the tensioner was falling apart & ripping up the belt. (nt) - Denise1066 12 days ago

I've been ignoring a horrible sound coming from my left rear wheel for a couple of years now! Now it's leaking brake fluid all over the driveway :( (nt) - duedrop 12 days ago

My bus is officially off the road until next week at least! I've been walking nearly everywhere as I'm too scared to drive it now. (nt) - duedrop 7 days ago

Of course that will work!! I've been ignoring that flashing four wheel light now for a few months..... (nt) - javamommy 11 days ago

I have a windshield washer light that won't go off. The stuff is full and the it works fine, it's just the light is always on. I know our transmission needs some work, but that's going to be a lot of money, so sadly, Jason and I are putting it off until it MUST be done. (nt) - serialmommy 11 days ago

UGH!!! ARG!!! My heater STILL isn't fixed....I called the mechanic and he said it worked fine for him!! (nt) - room4more 10 days ago

10. I'v Got A Front Dooor!!! Ours had the metal peeling off (dh beat it back on) and was crooked and wouldn't latch or lock. Today we got a new one that actually shuts! I had to explain to the little kids you have to TURN the knob to use it now. Bye bye tax money but worth it. (nt) - joyofsix 11 days ago (5)

Amazing how we can get so exicted about a new door... - Luv2bmom 11 days ago

Congrats!!! (nt) - Denise1066 11 days ago

Way to go on the door! Those are always so nice to have. (nt) - serialmommy 11 days ago

Awesome!! I'd love a new front door, but ours isn't bad enough to need replacing, yet. That's funny about having to learn how to turn the knob!!! (nt) - room4more 10 days ago

11. If I could only count this as a valid "reason"... - serialmommy 11 days ago (3)

I vote it's valid, LOL! Seriously, my oldest dd gets hives from lots of soaps including dish soap. She wears gloves to clean and baby wipes unfortunately in public bathrooms. (nt) - joyofsix 10 days ago

Sounds like a job to be delegated on medicinal purposes!! (nt) - room4more 10 days ago

12. I went grocery shopping last night and scored 50# bags of flour for $9.00!! And then I found sweat shirts and pants for $1.00 at WM....I stocked up for the twins for next winter. (nt) - room4more 10 days ago (5)

LOVE finding good deals!!! Way to go! (nt) - Luv2bmom 10 days ago

Great deals!!! (nt) - joyofsix 10 days ago

15. Any soap makers? - serialmommy 5 days ago (6)

I haven't made soap, it didn't seem cost effective here. Have you tried the 7th generation products? They claim to be hypoallergenic. (nt) - joyofsix 5 days ago

Two more thoughts? My grandma used plain old castille soap for everything including dishes and would baking soda work? (nt) - joyofsix 5 days ago

I've never heard of 7th Generation stuff. And where would I get castille soap. On a blog I read, she uses a combo of home made soap with some borax and oxyclean. I'm really tired of my hands and arms breaking out in hives. You'd think there would be more hypoallergenic products on the market. (nt) - serialmommy 5 days ago

Borax & Oxyclean are both rough on your skin....borax is very drying. (nt) - Denise1066 5 days ago

I get Kirk's Castille soap body wash at Meijer. It's good for everything, I just think they sell more if they market it as body wash. I use it for my the clothes I handwash, in the shower, in the dishes in a pinch and dh uses it as shampoo too. Link inside - joyofsix 5 days ago

16. hand-me-downs - Claire 3 days ago (4)

I use rubbermaid tubs & I find that my younger girls are growing into things at a younger age than our oldest daughter wore them (m) - Denise1066 3 days ago

I keep things for the younger kids and plain jeans, tshirts, sweatshirts, etc. I keep them in tubs labeled by size. I don't keep anything 'trendy' because it always ends up looking dated by the time the next one can wear it. (nt) - joyofsix 2 days ago

I use the clear rubbermaid as well... - Luv2bmom 18 hours ago

17. I've almost found my laundry room! I might even be able to post pics in a week or two!!!! (nt) - duedrop 11 hours ago (3)

Hooray! (nt) - joyofsix 5 hours ago

hahah i remember having this discussion before when i was on the board....there is no laundry room. I used to post pics to prove otherwise!!!! (nt) - javamommy 3 hours ago
