Amber (39), with 3 kiddos (TTC #4 for 4 years) we love valentine's day! (nt) - Dbaas 8 days ago

Denise (43) w/6 kids We don't really "celebrate" but we do pay attention to the news coverage of the groundhog on Groundhog day & I usually buy the kids a chocolate box for Valentines Day (m) - Denise1066 8 days ago

Penelope, 40, 10, we watch Groundhog Day if we can, and do small Valentines things. My birthday is coming, so we celebrate that. (nt) - gelsum 8 days ago

Alison w/4 kids. The kids do Valentines at school. Sometimes I'll make cookies or a heart-shaped pizza or something like that. Sometimes not. I think Groundhog day is really stupid, and would much rather celebrate National Chocolate Day or something like that. (nt) - wantabunch 8 days ago

Michelle with 11 people in our house. Don't do much. I would like to do Val Day this year, but don't know. (nt) - Mirz 7 days ago

Kathy (39) with 10 kids. we celebrate Valentines day with a special dinner and I pop something heart shaped in their lunch boxes with a lovenote for each one. After dinner, we say why we love each other too. I put up balloons and streamers to make it look pretty too. (nt) - duedrop 7 days ago

4. */*/*/*/* Room of the Month -- Monthly Challenge...LAUNDRY *\*\*\*\* - Admin 8 days ago (9)

Just getting the laundry done! I'm really bad about getting it washed AND folded AND put away! My goal is to pick a weekday (we'll say Monday) and do it completely every monday! (nt) - Dbaas 8 days ago

I usually do ok with getting it all washed & dryed. Folding & putting away are my biggest challenges. My mountwashmore is a couch full of clean clothes. (nt) - Denise1066 8 days ago

The wash I do daily folded and put away so that the only thing that needs to be done in my laundry room is a load or 2 of clothes (nt) - mom2twelve 8 days ago

OK, I need to completely clean my laundry room. It also has our (totally overflowing) shoe rack, cat food & catbox, coats, diaperbag/purse get dumped there, etc. I hereby profess I WILL get it cleaned/organized this month! (nt) - wantabunch 8 days ago

I've kind of given up on it. I wash minimally lately. I'm contemplating a new plan to reduce the time.... but it would mean the clothes not lasting as long. - gelsum 8 days ago

Doing the happy dance as (1) my laundry is caught up and (2) re-arranged the laundry when we had to have dryer repairs. That said ... - Ranae 8 days ago

I have a mountain of laundry. I commit to getting through it all and getting my laundry room organized! (nt) - Mirz 7 days ago

What a great idea! I've been keeping up on the washing side of things, but the folding an ironing leave a lot to be desired! I will declutter as it seems to have become a major dumping ground. And I want it to be somewhere I like to work. (nt) - duedrop 7 days ago

5. *+*+*+*+* Meal Planners - What's planned for this week? *+*+*+*+* (nt) - Admin 8 days ago (19)

I found a souffled omelette recipe in Joy of Cooking. Its light and healthy and my kids love it. I'd like to make it most mornings. Doing menu planning today! (nt) - Dbaas 8 days ago

Mine. I think. - wantabunch 8 days ago

Oh, is Sunday the Superbowl? Sigh. (m) - wantabunch 8 days ago

I set a goal to make a menu plan Sunday nights. Done it for the last 2 weeks now ... Our menu for the week (copied and pasted from my blog) - Ranae 8 days ago

This weeks menu...(hopefully I'll stick to it) - Denise1066 8 days ago

I'm excited to finally be doing this! - laurata 8 days ago

I want to eat at your house every night. :) (nt) - mama-san 7 days ago

Will be cooking the weeks worth of meals over the next 2 days. will post complete menu tomorrow (nt) - duedrop 7 days ago

yeah, right! lol (nt) - duedrop 4 days ago

I am back to planning monthly and very determined to stick to it like it was law! - mom2twelve 7 days ago

What is ravioli casserole? (nt) - Denise1066 7 days ago

The one I make it like a lasanga but you use ravioli in place of noodles and meat. It was a huge hit at my house. (nt) - Ranae 7 days ago

Exactly. Yum (nt) - mama-san 7 days ago

Do you use canned or frozen ravioli for it? It sounds interesting, but I'm confused about what else you would put in, meat, noodles & sauce are the main ingredients when I make Lasagna (nt) - Denise1066 5 days ago

I'm guessing it is frozen and layered with the cheese. We use a mix of ricotta, parmesan, & mozerella. (nt) - gelsum 5 days ago

Thawed frozen ravioli is what I use. (nt) - Ranae 2 days ago

6. *+*+*+*+* Random Household Poll -- Do you have a first aid kit? If not, what first aid stuff do you typically keep on hand? *+*+*+*+* (nt) - Admin 8 days ago (7)

We do. Complete with burn cream and bee stink "pads"? But we also keep plenty of character bandaids on hand (its body art to my kids) and peroxide. (nt) - Dbaas 8 days ago

We don't have a stocked first aid kit...I have a tube of neosporin, a couple boxes of bandaids, some gauze pads & tape & peroxide, some is in the hall bathroom, most of it is on top of the fridge to keep the littles out of it. (nt) - Denise1066 8 days ago

Used to. Also had one in each car. Sort of got forgotten to restock after depleting. I have triple anitbiotic, bee sting stuff, blue stuff for sunburns, gauze pads, gauze rolls, latex free bandages, cheap bandages for when they think they are stickers, lots of other bits like calamine, dermaplast (?), liquid bandage, etc. (nt) - gelsum 8 days ago

I have a good one in the car. In the house, I have 3 shoe-boxes filled with stuff. Bandages of all sizes, neosporin, benadryl, cold medicines, acetaminophen & ibuprofen (adult, children, infant), burn cream, etc. etc. etc. (nt) - wantabunch 8 days ago

We do, but I need to restock it. We use it for camping. We have a ton of stuff now because we had over $700 in our FSA in December so stocked up on about $400 in medicines and first aid supplies . LOL! (nt) - Ranae 8 days ago

Most definitely! Always keep liquid pain killers for each age group and dissolvable ones too. Steristrips for cuts that don't need stitching, triangular bandages, crepe bandages, disenfectant, tweezers, tapes, numbing creams and gels. etc.... (nt) - duedrop 7 days ago

I used Caroline's stew recipe & ended up making two different dishes with it (m) - Denise1066 8 days ago

You're welcome, Denise:-) (nt) - ckmom 7 days ago

Made Alison's brownies too....all the kids liked them, until 9 yr old told the 11 yr old they had coconut in them, then he wouldn't eat anymore (m) - Denise1066 8 days ago

10. Granola Bars recipe (as requested by my FB friends. :) ) - mama-san 7 days ago (6)

Thank you Kate! Can't wait to try it out. (nt) - ckmom 7 days ago

I don't have any wheat germ or flax or anything like that, should I had more oats? (nt) - Denise1066 7 days ago

Nah I would just leave it out, it won't make a difference texture wise, they'll still be good (nt) - mama-san 7 days ago

They are in the oven (m) - Denise1066 6 days ago

They came out really good!!! I think I may put coconut in next time too. I have a feeling this is what the littles & I will be eating for breakfast for the next couple days! (nt) - Denise1066 6 days ago

11. How many of you wash clothes by the individual? I can't think of any other way to put it.... where you have a child keep all their clothes in one hamper (or whatever) and then wash it as a load, regardless of color and fabric. (nt) - gelsum 6 days ago (10)

My 17,16,14,11 yo have their own basket and do their own. My 8yo has his own basket but I help him and 6 and 2yo share a basket that I do. Dh and I have our own also. (nt) - joyofsix 6 days ago

Where do they keep their baskets? I really think I need a new plan. I do all laundry for all 12 of us. We sort in from common hampers, and then sort again after washing. I really need to find more time in my day and thought changing this might help. - gelsum 6 days ago

The baskets are kept in their rooms or closets for my house. I keep a stool in the laundry room so Cara has no problem running my washer. Everyone is to fold and put away their own clothes. (nt) - Ranae 6 days ago

In their rooms where ever they find space. The key to this is make them do it. If they've got no clothes it probably won't happen again. I started this because the getting stuff back to the right room was crazy. I couldn't tell the 16 and 14's stuff apart either. (nt) - joyofsix 6 days ago

Each child has their own basket or hamper. The two youngest girls share one as they share a room. Joanna (6) brings up while Cara (8) washes them. I wash Eric's, dh's and mine. Everyone else is responsible for their own and has assigned days. I sort what I wash into whites, darks, lights and towels/sheets. The kids just do one entire load. (nt) - Ranae 6 days ago

I've thought about doing this (even bought baskets for it) but our laundry is so out of control at the moment that I haven't implemented it (m) - Denise1066 6 days ago

The hunting is what is killing us right now. - gelsum 6 days ago

I wash clothes for me, Kailani & Nani only; we have a basket that I keep in my room. In the laundry room, we have two-three section organizers meant to hold sports equipment, play balls, etc. These are meant to hold DH and the four older kids laundry. They are responsible for doing their own. The rule here is 7 yrs and up does their own. (nt) - ckmom 6 days ago

i don't...we have them dump in the communal baskets/pile and we go from there...everyone has such a variety of colors in their wardrobe doing it individually wouldn't be enough laundry for loads by color (nt) - serialmommy 4 days ago

12. */*/* Room of the Month Challenge...Please share a picture of your Laundry Room *\*\* (nt) - Denise1066 5 days ago (17)

My Laundry Room (more like Hallway) - Ranae 5 days ago

It's so clean and ordered! Where can I get one like this? I'm way too embarrassed to take a pic of mine, and I will use your pic as an inspiration to improve mine. (nt) - duedrop 4 days ago

i don't have one...i have a big pile of laundry and baskets in my dining room and my washer and dryer is in the very dark and dank basement where we don't want the kids going (nt) - serialmommy 4 days ago

My messy laundry room (m) - Denise1066 4 days ago

I love your washer and dryer (nt) - proudmommy5 3 days ago

They are the Kenmore HE with the tallest pedestal, we bought them 5 yrs ago & I mostly LOVE them (m) - Denise1066 3 days ago

hmmm never thought of that (nt) - proudmommy5 3 days ago

ok I can only do one pic at a time so here is the first one - proudmommy5 2 days ago

ok here is the secound one - proudmommy5 2 days ago

It looks like you have a lot of space. I'm thinking about putting up more shelves in my laundry room. (nt) - Denise1066 2 days ago

this is view #1 - mom2twelve 2 days ago

it's so bright. I like it!!!! (nt) - proudmommy5 22 hours ago

I like the light as well. I am spoiled there is a sky light above me and if the door is left open I have the light of the front door windows! (nt) - mom2twelve 20 hours ago

I love the window, wish my laundry room had a window. (nt) - Denise1066 2 days ago

I love that window! It is a view into the backyard and I can hear the kids playing and see a good part of the yard! (nt) - mom2twelve 2 days ago

13. Well, I did it. I told the girls that after Saturday they were responsible for their own clothing getting washed with the exception of whites. - gelsum 5 days ago (3)

I'm looking forward to hearing how it goes. (nt) - Denise1066 5 days ago

You go girl. Take that bull by the horns. (nt) - joyofsix 5 days ago

What is your favorite laundry product scent? (doesn't have to be a product you actually use) (nt) - Denise1066 4 days ago

I've always liked the scent of the original blue Snuggle fabric softener...haven't used it in years, but LOVE the smell. (nt) - Denise1066 4 days ago

none... I can't handle perfumes. And have you noticed that no-scent fabric softer has a strong scent? LOL So we don't use any of that. (nt) - gelsum 4 days ago

Not a product. Sun dried sheets smell great. (nt) - joyofsix 4 days ago

My favorite scent is orange/citrus. I gotta watch it though because Eric can't have red dye even on his skin. (nt) - Ranae 2 days ago

Downey has all of those wonderful exotic scents which I love. Though, in general, I think lilac. (nt) - Mirz 19 hours ago

Gain (nt) - mommacat 8 hours ago

Have you tried the wrinkle release sprays that are supposed to eliminate the need to iron? Is so, do you like it? (nt) - Denise1066 4 days ago

I haven't tried the new one that is on the market, but did try one about 7 yrs ago, it was more hassle than it was worth. (nt) - Denise1066 4 days ago

i don't iron unless i absolutely have to so i don't see the point in spending money on a product i won't be using (nt) - serialmommy 4 days ago

You are supposed to iron clothes? I thought irons were just for sewing. (nt) - gelsum 4 days ago

Hadn't even heard of it. (nt) - joyofsix 4 days ago

I LOVE them. WOH, I have to worry about wrinkles and simply don't have the time to iron. Note, they are really only for lightly wrinkled items, which is what I try to buy mostly anyway. (nt) - Mirz 19 hours ago

I have some but never use it. (nt) - mommacat 8 hours ago

Do you buy NO Wrinkle clothing to avoid the need to iron? (nt) - Denise1066 4 days ago

I try!!! I will only buy no wrinkle dress pants for DH & the boys & when I buy DH a dress shirt I always prefer the no wrinkle fabric. (nt) - Denise1066 4 days ago

Yes, no 100% cotton or linen for me. (nt) - joyofsix 4 days ago

Absolutely. Thankfully my office is dress casual, so I don't have to buy suits and such which would need heavy ironing. (nt) - Mirz 19 hours ago

I just buy whatever (nt) - mommacat 8 hours ago

How frequently do you iron? Do other members of your household iron? (nt) - Denise1066 4 days ago

The last time I remember ironing anything was Easter dresses last Spring...I avoid it whenever possible. Nobody else in my house currently irons, but my Mom was fanatical about it when I was a kid, she starched & iron sheets & pillow cases. (nt) - Denise1066 4 days ago

i use my iron when i'm doing crafts to get the wrinkles out of my fabric...other than that, i hardly ever use the iron... (nt) - serialmommy 4 days ago

Um, um, I think I ironed ds's shirt for the Christmas dance. (nt) - joyofsix 4 days ago

I usually only iron when doing sewing projects. Otherwise, I haven't been in a situation where we needed to iron regularly in about 7+ years. (nt) - Mirz 19 hours ago

I can't tell you the last time I ironed anything. If something needs ironed my husband generally does it. He's good at it I put more wrinkles in than I take out!!! LOL!!! (nt) - mommacat 8 hours ago

15. ordered some of my spring plants!!! - serialmommy 4 days ago (3)

That is very cool... I wish I had time to think of my garden right now....(m ) - gelsum 4 days ago

about the garlic.... - serialmommy 4 days ago

16. Menu RECAP...What did you actually make this week? How does it compare to your planned menu? (nt) - Denise1066 3 days ago (5)

I did good until Friday (m) - Denise1066 3 days ago

Breakfasts were all differeent except Monday. Also ... - Ranae 2 days ago

Managed to stick to the whole week's plan! --m - Mirz 19 hours ago

Congrats!!!! (nt) - Denise1066 17 hours ago

17. how many of you freeze baked goods?...do you freeze the batter or the actual baked item? (nt) - mom2twelve 2 days ago (4)

I have done it both ways. I like freezing cookie dough (in rolls wrapped in saran making for easier slicing & baking) but freeze the baked versions of cakes, breads & brownies. (nt) - Ranae 2 days ago

I freeze the baked item. I almost always make triple batches of stuff so I can freeze some for later. (nt) - joyofsix 22 hours ago

Breads/rolls/muffins baked, cookie dough unbaked because they're yummiest hot out of the oven. (nt) - wantabunch 18 hours ago

18. *+*+*+*+* Meal Planners - What's planned for this week? *+*+*+*+* (nt) - joyofsix 22 hours ago (7)
