JennP (37) with 5. My kids go to the neighborhood pool every day. I go to the Y a few times a week and try to get to the beach a couple of times a month in the summer. Those are about the only things we can tolerate in this heat! (nt) - tripntwinmom 06/29/2009 03:40

jennie and edward prego w/ #9. We swim at least once a weekend now that I'm working. When I was a sahm, we went at least 3-4 times a week. I miss those days. (nt) - JensGr8Blessing 06/29/2009 04:59

Michele and Andy, 10 kids. We used to swim a couple times a day. Now that the pool is gone, I am not sure when we will swim again. (nt) - canadianmom 06/29/2009 05:41

Sarah and Bo, 4 kids....and we don't go as often as we would like. Only a few times a summer. (nt) - sis517blue 06/29/2009 07:04

Caroline & Melvin with six kids...we have a membership at our neighborhood pool. The three older girls go almost everyday. Oldest DS goes several times a week at a friend's house a couple of streets over. Jodi and Ray with 6. We have a quickset pool that the kiddos have been swimming in, but i have not braved it yet. We did go to a freinds house and swam once last week...Well I did not really swim, just stood helping the kids in the water, but it was fun! (nt) - jmommy2>6 06/30/2009 14:46

Kim and Tom with 12 kids, 9 still at home. If I can get the pool cleared up, I'd go every day! But haven't gotten in yet this year. (nt) - kmomof12 07/02/2009 04:12

When we bought the Suburban, several kids back. (nt) - msjennbug 06/29/2009 04:07

Our first full size van...it was an 8-passenger. (nt) - jakikoripiba 06/29/2009 04:24

We haven't yet LOL -I don't feel like a mini-van is a "large family vehicle", so when we get our "big van", then I'll feel like we have arrived! LOL (nt) - mother2many 06/29/2009 05:21

I'm with ya here! (nt) - queenmommy911 06/29/2009 06:44

the 12 passenger van we used to have, loved that thing..... (nt) - canadianmom 06/29/2009 05:46

I don't know - we had big cars before we had kids, then at times we've had to use two small cars just to go anywhere together. So I guess it would be the Pontac Wagon that we bought after 4th Ds was born. We only buy used and cheap so we often change cars yearly. My Mountaineer is the first in a long line of vechicles (some small, some large) that I have liked and it fit all of us. (nt) - SevenMs 06/29/2009 12:19

I thought our Expedition was larger...but now it doesn't feel that way! LOL, it is "only" an 8 passanger (nt) - kiddaw 06/29/2009 17:54

me~ a black sport jeep. family~ 15 passenger van (nt) - JensGr8Blessing 06/29/2009 05:04

a Subaru Baja or a Chevy Avalache for me; Dh wants another Mazda (B-2000) king cab and family - we both love the Mountaineer, so maybe another Mountaineer with less miles. (nt) - SevenMs 06/29/2009 12:23

At 15....got license at 16. (nt) - sis517blue 06/29/2009 07:12

I was 15 and got my licence at 16 1/2. (nt) - SevenMs 06/29/2009 12:26

*~* What was your first car? What happened to it? *~* - Mirz 06/29/2009 01:45

1972 Capri, it caught on fire and then we tried to fix it and it sat in the garage until about 7 years ago when we sold it for scrap (nt) - Christine 06/29/2009 02:54

A 1985 Nissan Sentra. We donated it. (nt) - mama-san 06/29/2009 03:01

Renault Alliance. It died a permanent death within a week of purchase. (nt) - msjennbug 06/29/2009 04:10

I had a 1980 Subaru 4-door....i loved that car, it was black, 5-speed with a sunroof. I traded it in for a Mitsubishi eclipse. (nt) - jakikoripiba 06/29/2009 04:28

I drove my mom's 1986 Ford Aerostar minivan. Then my dh's Ford Escort. The first car that was ever MINE was a 2001 Jeep Cherokee that we sold a 3 years ago to get the minivan. I still miss that Jeep! (nt) - sis517blue 06/29/2009 07:14

My first car was a bright yellow 1981 Chevy Chevette. It went off the road (parked in Bridgewater, ME) at the end of my senior year because of inspection issues. However, after an accident total my dh's car in 1993, he traveled up to Bridgewater and got my chevette. Then 18hours of work later my Chevette was on the road for another year. I loved that car - at its final parking it had 587,745 miles on it. (nt) - SevenMs 06/29/2009 12:33

*~* Who's a better driver? You or DH/SO? Who drives more? *~* - Mirz 06/29/2009 01:45

He THINKS he is! I drive way more than he does. (nt) - Christine 06/29/2009 02:55

I have never hada ticket in my life so I would say me. But he is a very good driver too and he does most of the driving when we go out as a family. (nt) - mama-san 06/29/2009 03:02

DH drives way more. "Safe"? I dunno. - msjennbug 06/29/2009 04:11

I think we're both pretty good drivers....I think I drive more b/c I have to take the kids to all their activities....plus... - jakikoripiba 06/29/2009 04:30

dh drives more and I think he is better...but I am a ticketless and one fenderbender driver in 25 yrs of driving (nt) - mom2twelve 06/29/2009 04:56

I have never had a ticket, and dh has soooo...LOL. He drives for a living, so he definately drives more, and he drives when we go out as a family. He's a very safe driver but I feel like I am equally as safe. :-) (nt) - mother2many 06/29/2009 05:46

Both titles go to DH - he had tons of experience driving all sorts of vehicles in the Army and he does almost all driving when we are together (nt) - queenmommy911 06/29/2009 06:58

Dh....he has more experience being an ex-trucker. And he drives most of the time when we are all together. (nt) - sis517blue 06/29/2009 07:15

I don't know whose better. I guess it's him even though he has the tickets, I have the accidents (only 1 my fault - in parking lot chose to bump a car fender over an elderly gentleman with walker). Who drives more - since the last accident I would give him that title - he drives 80 miles a day to work (I drive about 35 for the kids) and he now usually drives whenever we are together. (nt) - SevenMs 06/29/2009 12:39

Oh my gosh, dh is a MUCH better driver...and INSISTS he drive when we are together. Otherwise he has a sheer panic attack. LOL! I am an awful driver, so I see why he says that. (nt) - kiddaw 06/29/2009 17:55

6. *~*~*~*~* Monday Music - What's your favorite lullabye song? *~*~*~*~* - Mirz 06/29/2009 01:35 (12)

I'm not big on traditional lullabyes...usually sing "Skinamarink" or "You are my sunshine" to soothe tiny ones (nt) - queenmommy911 06/29/2009 01:40

"I'll love you forever, I'll like you for always, as long as I'm living my baby you'll be". (nt) - mommy2jkserjlj 06/29/2009 02:07

ME TOO ME TOO ME TOO. We read this book before every nap and bedtime. It's been a family fav since my brother little. (nt) - Shawna 06/29/2009 05:14

Daisy or the theme from Gilligan's Island (nt) - Christine 06/29/2009 02:56

Hush Little Baby... (nt) - mama-san 06/29/2009 03:05

Me too....love this one! (nt) - sis517blue 06/29/2009 07:15

Gens du pays....it is not a lullaby at all, in fact it is a Quebec nationalist song I learned in school. I don't know why I started singing it one night to Hailey as a baby. It got her to sleep! (nt) - canadianmom 06/29/2009 05:40

I usually make up songs using their names. Since we use these songs alot, they really love it! (nt) - mother2many 06/29/2009 05:56

I usually sing Christmas songs for lullabye's LOL...the only thing I can recall the words to these days! (nt) - kiddaw 06/29/2009 17:47

I've not had much opportunity, but usually Rock-a-bye Baby or Morningtown Ride (which my mum used to sing to me as a baby). (nt) - mini-mug 06/30/2009 01:31

Would You Like To Swing on a Star...and if they're not asleep by the time that one's done, I usually start singing any praise songs I can remember the words to. :) (nt) - BigSistah 06/30/2009 09:43

7. need advice on a sensitive subject - Shawna 06/29/2009 08:40 (4)

Shawna, that is a very unique situation to be in and hard to imagine exactly what I would do in that position. I think I would be open to taking her to meet the family as long as I were going to be with her the whole time. If you're concerned about overwhelming her, maybe you should arrange to meet a smaller group of relatives first and then the rest of them later as long as she does okay. (nt) - ckmom 06/29/2009 13:37
