In a world where the norm is 2-3 children, larger families experience difficulty finding acceptance, encouragement, or simple resources to help handle the unique challenges of day-to-day life. Though a small endeavor, we hope this site will be able to fill a need for those families, offering a place to find friendship, ideas, and general support for those who decide to have lots of kids. Whether by birth, adoption, or blended family, anyone with a houseful of children is welcome!
Many people who consider having a large family find themselves barraged with criticism, derrogatory remarks, and general discouragement from society and family members. This pressure oftentimes leads to a questioning of the idea of a large family, and may even lead to the choice of not adding another member. We believe that the choice to have one or ten children lies with the family that will raise them, and that such decision should be respected and supported. With that in mind, we also invite those who are thinking of having a large family, or those who can't but would like to know more and understand the "LOK" philosophy, to explore and frequent Lotsofkids.com. We hope that this website will offer a ray of hope for those individuals, and give them a place where they can see first hand life with lots of children, and find ideas of how to budget, feed, clothe, and deal with a number of children. |
