We own a 1998 Chevy Express 12 passenger van which we purchased in spring 2006. Ours is actually only an 11 passenger van because it originally didn't have the back bench seat. It did have the back bench seat when we bought it, but our back bench only seats 3 instead of 4.

I love the amount of space we have in our van! We have 5 children, but they are all still in carseats or booster seats. 2 carseats/booster seats on a bench still leaves room for an older child to sit between them.

I've ridden in Dodge's 12 and 15 passenger vans, and I like how the Chevy Express has more foot/leg room for the driver and front seat passenger than the Dodge.

I enjoy riding higher in the van than in cars and minivans.

Drawbacks of the Chevy Express include the low gas mileage. I'm not sure what ours gets, but it's probably around 12-15 mph. (The large gas tank means that you don't have to fill up more than in a smaller vehicle, so that's a plus.)

I'd love to have doors in the middle of the van on the driver's side. Our van only has heating and a/c vents near the front, but it would be nice to have some throughout the van. I see that some of the newer vans have these things, but ours doesn't.

I'd also put some speakers in the middle of the van instead of just in the front and rear.

Parking in non-slanted parking spots takes a bit of practice. Even after 2 years of driving our van, I still often have to back-up and pull back into a parking spot to straighten out the van.

The van is difficult to back-up in due to the large blind-space, but it does get easier with practice.
