CHOCOLATE NACHOS

Even if you don't celebrate Cinco de Mayo, or even like Mexican food in general, you'll find this tasty dessert/snack is a fun and scrumptious treat.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
8 6-inch flour tortillas
1/4 cup butter
1 cup chocolate pieces (semi-sweet or milk)
2 teaspoons shortening (you may use butter)

Directions: Combine sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Brush one side of each tortilla with melted butter; sprinkle with sugar mixture. Cut each tortilla into eight wedges. Arrange half of the wedges in a single layer on a 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned wedges will crisp upon standing. Remove wedges from oven and cool slightly. Meanwhile, melt chocolate pieces and shortening in a small saucepan until smooth. Spread half of the wedges on the bottom of a serving platter (you may need more than one), drizzle with the melted chocolate mixture. If you like your chocolate soft, serve immediately (warm). If you want it a little less messy, allow the chocolate to cool before serving. These are great either way. Makes 64 wedges.

Note: You may substitute warmed hot fudge topping or similar topping for the melted chocolate. However, remember that the finished product will be more gooey and will not cool hard.
