ON-THE-FLY BARBEQUE SAUCE

I came up with this barbeque sauce when guests were over and I discovered we were out of barbeque sauce. It's easy to make in a pinch with ingredients you should have on hand. Make it right before use, or ahead of time and let sit in the fridge a few hours so the flavors really mix. The coffee gives it a unique "smoky" flavor.

Ingredients:
1 cup of ketchup
1/2 cup of maple syrup
2 tbsp of brewed coffee (liquid)
2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp of cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions: Mix all ingredients together. Leftover sauce refrigerates well for a week.

This sauce is particularly good on chicken. Mix the sauce into grilled onions for a great addition to hamburgers.
