Blinkies are fun little graphics you can create to decorate your webpages, use on message boards, or include in your emails. You can make them pretty easily with a graphics program. But if you are not handy with Photoshop, or simply don't have a lot of time, a blinkie maker can help you create one quickly. Since we are always striving to develop fun utilities for our visitors, we thought it would be nice to do one for the site with an emphasis on family images.

NEW AND IMPROVED! - We have incorporated a dollmaker script into the page to make creating blinkies easier. Simply double click on any image and it will appear in the box (it will say "build doll here" but don't let that scare you). Once the pieces are in there, you can reposition them however you like. Then simply "Save" and the maker will give you an image you can save to your hard drive. It's that simple!

If you prefer, you can still make a blinkie the old-fashioned way, using our old blinkie maker. Click here to go there.

Want to animate your blinkie (i.e make it flash or move)? You'll need an animation program to do that. A great free one is Unfreez. You can download it here. To make a blinkie, you need to make separate versions of your graphicse, since computer animation works the same as conventional animation--it takes several pictures with slight variations and compiles them to make a "moving" graphic. In our BARS category, we have created complimenting images, so you can easily make your graphic blink (just copy the same pictures/text to both sides of the image and animate in your favorite paint program).

Note: most of the following icons and graphic were made by the LOK webmasters and staff. If you use these blinkies, a link back to the site would be appreciated--even if it is just on your "credits" page. It is not required, however, but does help others find the Lotsofkids site.

Create identical graphics using both bars in order to make animated blinkies later.

Double click a graphic and it will appear in the box. Click bars and blocks first so they are on the bottom layer. Click on a graphic more than once for additional copies (such as letters). Drag pieces inside box and position as desired. Save & Download...no cut-and-pasting required.
