Over the years we have gotten lots of wonderful emails and feedback from visitors of the site. In honor of our fifth anniversary, we are compiling some of our favorites--as well as a few that offered good suggestions and some helpful insights. We'll be adding new letters and comments periodically.
Thank You!! I've been looking all over for a due date calculator that takes into account a KNOWN date of conception! I found the page through a Yahoo search. Thank you SO MUCH! (There is only one day it could possibly be lol)

Hello and what a great site! You have a beautiful website and an even better family! This is a very unique concept for a website. Keep up the great work!

Just wanted to say that I stumbled across your site this morning. Enjoyed my visit! Thank you!
Warmly, Ruth, mama to 12 so far
While I enjoyed your website I take issue with your comments [in the LOK FAQ] on adopting. You refer to birth children as "your own" as though adoptive children aren't our own children. And adoption doesn't have to cost a cent and, in fact, often comes with a subsidy and insurance card as well when you adopt through state foster care systems. We have adopted seven kids for a total of ten daughters in all and we want the word spread that you do not need to have any money at all saved up and you can still adopt and that adoptive children are our real children, our own children. Thanks for listening
~ Tammy
LOK Says: I don't think that anything on our site suggests that biological children are in any way better or more legitimate than adoptive children. In the FAQ, we were simply stating the personal feelings that certain individuals have. Some people are not interested in adopting and would prefer to expand their families through biological children. We are not here to question why someone has a large family or their means of doing so. However, we thank you for sharing your point of view. I know that there are several members of our community who have gone the fostering and adoption route, and I know this is something that is good to know for others who may consider a large family but may not be able to biological due to medical issues or choice. We do feel this issue and concern is important enough that we will be addressing it the next time we update our FAQ section. Thank you for writing.
YOU ARE A GODSEND! I am a 39-year-old mother of 4 children and new to staying home. I have worked as a pediatric speech-language pathologist for the last 17 years, got remarried and pregnant in 2006 and we decided I would stay home. BEING A STAY-AT-HOME MOTHER IS MUCH MORE CHALLENGING THAN A PROFESSIONAL CAREER! Your website is helping me attain the goal of running my home as smoothly a business.....I thank you! We love the meal charts and the chore charts.

Thank you for the inspiration and the beautiful insights! I received an email from a cousin who is about to have her 4th baby this week. I too am expecting my 4th (in 4 and 1/2 years) in October. The email contained some whitty responses to common questions or statements made by others who don't quite understand where we're coming from. This site lead me to yours, and Oh! how thankful I am. The site is organized and has so much to offer. I came across Michelle's Musings and read some of the past articles, especially the one about Terri Schiavo from April 2005, and must tell you thanks for this beautiful "ministry" (as I see it) to families who encounter so much pressure and critiscism from today's world. I will be visiting regularly, you can count on that, and spreading the word. Thanks and God bless!

We are so sorry to hear about your difficulties and would like you and your family to know that we are praying for you. We would love to give, but as we are in the throws of our own difficulties we are unable too. But we will be praying for the money to pay for the site. Thank you for taking your time and money on this site. It is WONDERFUL! Plus-A Lot of Kids are great!!

Check your spelling. In the opening paragraph of your homeschooling page, you have two errors. "Particular" should be "particularly, and there is no such word as "irregardless." The word should be "regardless." Public educators really like to see these kinds of mistakes on anything homeschooling related! Thanks.

LOK Says: Ooops! As an independently operated site, we don't have proofreaders to check all articles for typographical and grammatical errors. We are lucky that our staff does try to help in that regard, but the bottom line is that some typos slip through the cracks. As a result, we appreciate when visitors let us know of these kinds of errors, as well as broken links and other site annoyances. We have even set up a special site support area to assist our visitor with reporting such issues. Thanks for writing!
Thank you! I just wanted to say "thanks". I just used your chore chart creator to make charts for my kids. It was quick and easy and I didn't need to "re-invent the wheel" trying to come up with something myself! Thanks for sharing your work!

I read about the family closet and I knew it was the answer to my prayers! I just got started today and have a ways to go, but I am already feeling relieved. We just found out that number 5 is on the way and I desperately needed help conquering the laundry mountain.
I brought my neighbor in to see the closet yesterday and got accused of being organized! It's the first time anyone has ever said this of me who really knows me and has actually stepped foot in my house. It's the first time it has been true for me EVER! I also began monthly menu planning after reading the article on creating your own menu and simply repeating it every month. I cannot begin to tell you how this has lowered my stress level throughout the day. I had no idea how much time I really spent worrying about "what to fix?". Periodically throughout the day when I would normally be worrying about it, I find myself smiling and knowing what we're having . I am sooo glad I found your site and have been telling everyone I know all about it.

LOK Says: Thank you for the email! We are thrilled to hear that the article was able to help you get more organized. It's also nice to hear learn that the meal planning has helped ease your stress level. We try very hard to develop articles that will benefit the large family community, taking care not only to give good information, but provide pictures and utilities to help. We appreciate your feedback and will be featuring the photos you submitted of your closet here.
